Soumya Sarkar and Litton Das added 31 runs for the third wicket before Akeal Hosein got the breakthrough in the form of Sarkar. Mushfiqur Rahim didn't contribute much as he got out scoring just eight.

Mahmudullah and Das made things interesting with their 40-run stand. Das, however, got out trying to go over the long on. He made 44 from 43 balls. Mahmudullah couldn't help his team go over the line in the last over, in which Bangladesh needed 13 runs, and remained unbeaten on 31 from 24 balls.

Earlier, on being asked to bat first, West Indies lost both their openers - Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis - early. Bangladesh kept things tight even after the powerplay as Windies' batters failed to middle the regularly.

Pollard, in particular, looked uncomfortable and retired himself out in the 13th over after scoring 8 from 16. However, Andre Russell got out in the very next ball to make things worse for West Indies.

Roston Chase scored a fighting 39 off 45 along with Nicholas Pooran who hit 40 off just 22 balls, including four sixes and one four.

Jason Holder hit two sixes and Pollard, after coming back to the crease in the last over, smashed a six on the last ball to help West Indies reach 142/7.

For Bangladesh, Mahedi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shoriful Islam got two wickets each.
