The 6IXTY: Famous for his power-hitting, West Indies' explosive batter Rovman Powell displayed excellent acrobatic skills while fielding on Friday (August 26th) in the match between Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals in The 6ixty tournament. On the third delivery of the 7th over, Ireland batter Harry Tector played an excellent shot which seemed like a certain six as soon as the ball connected with the bat.
Left-hand pacer Roman Reifer's delivery was smacked straight into the air by the batter. The ball seemed to be going for the six, but placed at long-on, fielder Rovman Powell had other ideas. To stop the ball from crossing the boundary, Powell leapt into the air and intercepted the ball from going for a six.
The Royals' batter only managed 3 runs on this ball. On-air commentator Ian Bishop and Dany Morrison were heard praising the fielder, Rovman Powell. While talking about the match, Barbados Royals' were bowled out for 121 runs in 9.5 overs.
