Strength: The 30-year-old pace bowler always looks like taking a wicket. He drops the ball on the seam more often than not. Many times, he is a bit unlucky as the ball misses the edge of the bat off his bowling on multiple occasions. His ability to hit the right lines and lengths regularly is also impressive. Along with Ishant, he can reverse the old ball.

Weakness: Can be expensive at times.

Mohammed Siraj
Strength: The 27-year-old pace bowler has an enormous amount of energy and high levels of fitness. On the tour of Australia, he out-bowled everyone in the Indian camp including spinners. His strength is his consistent line and length and his ability to get under the opposition's skin.

Weakness: Not as skillful as the other three bowlers since he is new to the Test level, but his confidence carries him through.

Umesh Yadav
Strength: The 33-year-old has pace and uses the reverse swing to good effect.

Weakness: Can be expensive at times.

Shardul Thakur
Strength: A quality swing bowler, the 29-year-old has the ability to bowl out-swingers which can be very handy abroad. Can bat as well.

Weakness: Not much experience of Test cricket.
