Delhi cricketer Unmukt Chand on Saturday posted an appeal on Twitter urging his followers to provide leads for procuring life-saving drug for Covid-19, Remdesevir.

"Immediately require Remdesevir vials for my mother and uncle who are suffering from Covid 19. Kindly send leads ASAP," tweeted Chand, who guided his team to Under-19 Cricket World Cup title in 2012 with an unbeaten 111 against Australia.
As soon as Chand posted the doctor's prescription, several of his followers started re-tweeting his appeal.
Help started coming in from several quarters, with fans and friends posting nationwide distributors' list for the drug, which is reportedly in short supply owing to the surge of Covid-19 cases in the country.
Others forwarded links of the company that manufactures the drug while several others gave their contact numbers for immediate supply of the vials.
Chand, after a stint with Indian Premier League (IPL) side Delhi Daredevils between 2011-2013, was also part of the Rajasthan Royals setup (2014) and Mumbai Indians (2015-16). He represents Delhi in domestic cricket and also had a brief stint with Uttarakhand in the 2019-20 domestic season.
He had led India to under-19 World Cup win in 2012.
