Two-time World T20 champions West Indies played their last match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against Australia in Abu Dhabi on Saturday (6th November). This is quite possibly the last match of several West Indies legends.
Australia won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first. Evin Lewis opened the innings along with veteran batter Chris Gayle. While this happened, Kieron Pollard and other West Indian players stood in respect at the boundary line and applauded for the legendary T20 batter.

Gayle was bowled by Pat Cummins after scoring 15 runs off 9 balls with help of two sixes. When Gayle was returning back to the pavilion, he greeted the fans with a bat. Apart from this, Dwayne Bravo, Jason Holder and Andre Russell hugged him while going towards the dressing room. These are some signs that this was Chris Gayle's last international match.
Gayle has not officially said anything about his retirement from international cricket yet. He has also expressed his desire to play in the 2022 T20 World Cup for West Indies. Gayle was out of form throughout this tournament and could only manage 45 runs in 5 matches.
