Virat Kohli creates history with his 23rd century

New Delhi: Virat Kohli, undoubtedly India's most consistent and fiery batsman in the past couple of years, scored a brilliant century against South Africa in the 4th ODI at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Oct 22, 2015. It was his 23rd Century and first against South Africa.

While he scored many centuries in the past, this one is little more special. With his 138-run knock, Kohli became only the fifth batsmen in the world to have scored at least one ODI century against all the Test playing nations. He is now only the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to score a ton against all Test-playing nations. The other three are Australia's Ricky Ponting and South Africa's Herschelle Gibbs and Hashim Amla had achieved this feat. 

With this century, he climbed to No.5 position in the list of  highest ODI centuries. He overtook former India captain Sourav Ganguly, Sri Lankan batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan and explosive West Indies batsman Chris Gayle. All the three batsmen have 22 centuries to their name.
