Dinesh Karthik smashed thunderously and the spectators were reminded of the batter's historic innings played in the Nidahas Trophy. When DK came out to bat, there were only 17 balls left in RCB's innings. Hence, the 36-year old was under the pressure to play the role of finisher to perfection and start striking from the first ball.

Playing his first match upon return to RCB, Karthik made sure that Kohli and Faf's efforts didn't go to waste and finished unbeaten on 32 runs from just 14 balls. In his knock, DK displayed an array of exceptional shots. Smashing all around the ground, Dinesh smacked 3 fours and 3 sixes. This was similar to his knock in Nidahas Trophy final against Bangladesh where he scored an unbeaten 28 runs off 9 balls to take Team India to victory.

This inning by Dinesh Karthik clearly displayed that he is still capable of being a good finisher in the T20 format and would be hoping that if he continues this performance throughout IPL 2022, selectors may consider him to be a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
