The first test of the 2-match series between Sri Lanka and Australia is being played at Galle. In this match, Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and opted to field first, after which his team got off to a bad start. The Sri Lankan team lost half their batting order for just 100 runs. Amidst this, David Warner gathered the traction of all cricket fans online.

Dimuth Karunaratne faced 84 deliveries against Australia and scored 28 runs. Sri Lankan batters looked very careful in their approach while batting. During his knock, Karunaratne also smacked three boundaries. However, David Warner took an amazing catch in the slips with an unbelievable dive to send Karunaratne back to the pavilion.

This happened in the 30th over of the Sri Lankan innings. Spin bowler Nathan Lyon was bowling this over for the Aussies. Lyon managed to beat Dimuth on the second delivery of this over as the ball deflected off the batter's bat and went straight onto the pads and went towards the slips. Australian players went up in a huge appeal for an LBW, however, an 'alert' David Warner in the slips saw the ball in the air in front of him and with an excellent dive, managed to complete the catch with both his hands.

It is noteworthy that it was due to David Warner that the umpire had to adjudge the Sri Lankan captain out. Had Warner joined in with his teammates in the LBW appeal instead of going for the catch, the Aussies would have missed out on this wicket.
