T20 Blast 2022: Alex Hales has been statistically the best T20 batter the England team has at the moment, and the batter went on to play to his image against Derbyshire. The opener maintained a strike rate of 275.76 in the 33 deliveries he faced and led Nottinghamshire to a 7-wicket win.

Chasing a target of 179, opener Alex Hales etched a partnership of 119 runs in 8.2 overs with Joe Clarke for the opening wicket. However, Clare only scored 25 runs in 20 deliveries while Hales was the main aggressor.

In the 4th over being bowled by George Scrimshaw, Hales looted 20 runs and in the 6th over by Sam Curran, the batter went on to smack 26 runs. Alex Hales had completed his fifty off just 18 deliveries. 

Hales was dismissed by Scrimshaw in the 10th over, but till then the opener had done his job. Facing 33 deliveries, Alex Hales smacked 12 fours & 5 sixes, scoring 91 runs at a magnificent strike rate of 275.76. The English batter was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders for 1.50 crores. However, the batter pulled out of the tournament and was replaced by Aaron Finch.

While talking about the match, after being put in to bat first, Derbyshire posted 178/10 in 20 overs. Leus du Plooy was the top scorer with 51 runs in 34 deliveries with 3 fours & a six while W Madsen contributed with 40 runs in 30 deliveries. With Alex Hales' storm in the second innings, Nottinghamshire chased down the total in 17.1 overs, winning the match by 7 wickets.
