In the ongoing test match between India & New Zealand, New Zealand have been blown out by the Indian bowling attack as they have been bundled on 62 in mere 28.1 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin, India's highest wicket-taker in tests, registered another achievement to his name.

As Ashwin registered a figure of 4-8, he became the highest wicket-taker in tests this year. The off-spinner has now 48 wickets to his name in just 8 matches in 2021, with 3 five-wicket hauls. His average is 16.87 with a strike rate of 42.8.

Ravi Ashwin was levelled with Shaheen Afridi before this match at 44 wickets, and with his lethal bowling against New Zealand in the first innings, was able to get ahead of the Pakistani pacer. In the first match, Ashwin went ahead of Harbhajan Singh in the list of highest wicket-takers of all time.

Earlier, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss & elected to bat first against New Zealand in the 2nd test match. India scored 325/10 with the help of Mayank Agarwal's 150. Ajaz Patel created history as he picked up all 10 Indian wickets. In reply, the Kiwis were bundled out for 62 courtesy of excellent bowling performance by Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel & Mohammad Siraj.

While writing this piece, India have started their second innings and are at 12-0 at the moment. Cheteshwar Pujara & Mayank Agarwal are at the crease, as Shubman Gill picked up an injury while fielding and didn't come out to bat.
