The opener faced just 72 balls during his knock and smashed 237 runs during which he hit 24 sixes and 20 fours, meaning that 224 runs off 237 came in just boundaries. His 237 is the sixth-highest score of the Victoria Premier League.

Thewlis was even dropped once during his knock but that didn't make much difference since he could only add 1 more run before he finally got caught off the bowling of Saad Khattak.

Camberwell Magpies went on to score 441/5 runs in the first innings. In reply, Kingston Hawthorn could only manage 203/8 at the end of the 50 overs.
