WATCH: Deepak Chahar & Arshdeep Rattle South African Batters As India Reduced The Proteas To 9/5
Team India bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar wreaked havoc on the South Africa batters in the 1st T20I, picking up 5 wickets inside the powerplay.
Indian fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar produced an impeccable bowling performance as South Africa batters metaphorically kneeled in front of team India. After India captain, Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bowl first after which Arshdeep Singh & Deepak Chahar together reduced South Africa to 9 runs in 2.3 overs where 5 batters already returned to the pavilion. During this, South Africa lost three of their top-order batters for a golden duck.
First wicket- Deepak Chahar was handed the responsibility to bowl the first over for team India. On the last delivery of the over, Deepak uprooted South Africa captain Temba Bavuma's middle stump. Chahar hit the fullish length with an inswinger as the ball curved back in viciously to rattle the middle and leg stumps. There was no foot movement from Bavuma as he tried to drill the drive and left a huge gap between the pad and the bat.

Second wicket - Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh came on to bowl the second over. Quinton de Kock tried to play a cut shot on the second delivery and the ball took the inner edge to dislodge the stumps.
Third wicket - On the 5th delivery, Arshdeep Singh also sent back Rilee Rossouw on the first delivery he faced. Pitched outside the off stump, Rilee went for a drive and the ball took an outside edge, going straight into Rishabh Pant's gloves.

Fourth Wicket - Arshdeep also dismissed David Miller on the sixth delivery of the over. The ball swung in after bouncing to which Miller tried to drive, missed the ball as the delivery went on to dislodge and uproot the middle stump.
Fifth Wicket - Deepak Chahar continued bowling as he came onto bowl the 3rd over, where he dismissed Tristan Stubbs to deal the Proteas their fifth blow inside the powerplay. Stubbs played a cut shot to delivery outside off stump on back of a length and the ball took the outside edge, going to the fielder placed at deep third man. Arshdeep completed the catch to dismiss Stubbs for a golden duck.

It is noteworthy that this is the first time team India grabbed 5 wickets against an opponent in international cricket for less than 10 runs
