WATCH: Players Down To The Ground As Bees Stop Play In County Cricket
Bee Attack in cricket: Sussex vs Leicestershire interrupted by a swarm of bees.
Cricket is a sport that can be stopped and interrupted for a variety of reasons from drizzling to heavy rainfall, from a ball touching the camera to someone making even a slight movement in the eye-line of the batter. We also saw a new interruption in the IPL 2022 where a cat sitting at the sight screen stopped the play.
It wasn't the first time some animal had stopped the game. There have been several instances where dogs and cats have come into the ground. While it is entertaining but it does need a bit of work to get these animals off the field. But these are animals who don't bring in much danger, the same can't be said about bees or wasps.

Bee attack in cricket is a rare thing but it has happened earlier and history has repeated itself. In the ongoing County Championship Division 2 game, the Sussex vs Leicestershire was halted due to a bee attack on the field.
The game was going well with Leicestershire batters - Harry Swindells and Callum Parkinson - trying to hold the game in the second inning. However, just when Delray Rawlins was in his runup, the slip fielder saw something coming and immediately went down on the ground.
The wicketkeeper soon realised that a swarm of bees was coming toward the pitch and immediately all the players and umpires went down to the ground to protect themselves from the bee attack.
