WATCH: Playing With Broken Jaw And Beth Mooney Dives To Save A Boundary
Watch Beth Mooney with a broken jaw dives to save a boundary.
Australia's key batter Beth Mooney had fractured her jaw in a practice session before the first T20I against England and had to undergo surgery 10 days before the only test.
The surgery went successful and she was back in the nets soon. However, she wasn't expected to recover so soon to play the test match, and Grace Harris was called as the replacement.

Beth Mooney had three metal plates fit in her face, wire on her bottom teeth, and is restricted to eating soup, milkshakes, and ice cream through a straw but Mooney was comfortable stepping on the field.
"I don't think you can speed up a broken bone, it's going to be broken for five more weeks, but it's certainly a lot more comfortable now than it was a week or so ago," Mooney said ahead of the test.
On day 2 of the test match, Mooney, despite stepping on the field with a broken bone is running and throwing herself around like it's nothing. She even ran at full speed and dived forward to save a boundary.

Like Australian captain, Meg Lanning said ahead of the test, "To be coming back to play international cricket around a week after having jaw surgery is pretty inspirational for the group."
