Defined as the 'most hard-working guy', Rinku Singh finally displayed his worth as he played an unbeaten knock to save the match for Kolkata Knight Riders, who were facing a virtual knockout in case of a defeat.

Rinku Singh came on to bat in the 13th over when KKR were 92/3 while chasing 153. With 61 runs more needed, the left-hander played a fearless knock with Nitish Rana (48*) holding the other end. Rinku smacked 42 runs in just 23 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 182 with 6 fours & a six.

Rinku was re-acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a price of 55 lakhs INR in the IPL 2022 mega auction. With a base price of 20 lakhs, Lucknow Super Giants camp which included former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir made bids for acquiring the excellent fielder and now, a good finisher.

While talking about the match, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss & opted to field first against Rajasthan Royals in the 47th match of the IPL 2022. Samson's fifty and Hetmyer's finishing helped Rajasthan Royals to a total of 152/5 in 20 overs. In reply Kolkata Knight Riders chased down the total in 19.1 overs, scoring 158/3 and winning the virtual 'do-or-die' match by 7 wickets.
