In the ongoing match between India and Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli came on to bat after India lost both the openers for 80 runs in 18.3 overs. Kohli showed his class and smacked five breathtaking boundaries in his innings. The former captain seemed as if he would break the string of century-less innings and would come on top in his 100th match.

However, Lasith Embuldeniya bowled an excellent delivery to clean bowl Virat Kohli on the 3rd delivery of the 44th over. As Virat was dismissed, the batter looked disappointed with himself as he shook his head, while the cameraman went on to focus on captain Rohit Sharma in the dressing room, who was seen holding his head in despair. Kohli etched a partnership of 90 runs with Hanuma Vihari for the 3rd wicket before getting dismissed.

While talking about the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bat first against Sri Lanka in the 1st test match at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. Hanuma Vihari and Virat Kohli held the Indian innings and then after India lost these two in quick succession, Rishabh Pant scored a half-century while being ably assisted by first Shreyas Iyer (27) and currently Ravindra Jadeja (26*).
