WATCH: Rohit Sharma Redeems Tilak Verma's Possible Costly Mistake
Rohit Sharma took a low diving catch to get Quinton de Kock out during MI vs LSG match.
In T20 Cricket, the game can change from any ball and from any moment. The aim of the teams playing is to make minimum mistakes since even a single lost opportunity can turn the game around. This could be a dropped catch, a fielding mistake, or, for elite T20 viewers, even a single run.
During the Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants match 37 of the IPL 2022, the five-time champions MI saved themselves from a possibly costly mistake early in the first inning.

On being asked to bat first, LSG openers - KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock - tried to give the team a solid platform by making most of the powerplay restrictions. de Kock, who is an ex-MI player, tried to take on Jasprit Bumrah in the fourth over as he attempted to hit a six over deep square leg.
The connection was good but the fielder was set for that shot only. The ball went flat and fast towards Tilak Verma. Just when Tilak set his hands to take the catch, the ball went straight through the reverse cup and over the boundary rope for a six. Tilak couldn't do much but watch it sail over.
It could have been a costly mistake as de Kock has been in brilliant form this season and the six would have given him the momentum he was looking for.
However, on the next ball, Bumrah attempted a yorker which turned out to be a low-full toss. de Kock looked to punish the low full toss through the covers but Rohit Sharma was standing at the perfect position at the covers.
Rohit took had to take a low diving catch but managed to hang on to it and got de Kock out. Both Bumrah and Tilak Verma were relieved as the drop of de Kock didn't prove to be costly.
