Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the IPL 2022 playoffs after MI defeated DC.
The Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals match 69 was one of the most memorable days of the IPL 2022 not only because of the thrilling game but because of all the hype that it had and the consequences it had.
The result of the MI vs DC had two consequences: a) if Delhi would have won then Royal Challengers Bangalore would have been knocked out of the tournament b) if Delhi loses then RCB will enter the IPL 2022 playoffs.

It was because RCB had finished their league stage with 16 points but with a negative NRR. DC had 14 points in 13 games and NRR in positive so they just had to win the game and RCB would be out.
This resulted in massive hype for the game as all the RCB members including the players and social media handle openly supported Mumbai Indians. The hype was so much so that RCB even changed their Twitter handle color to blue in support of MI.

During the game, the crowd was heard chanting 'RCB, RCB'. There was a massive craze for the game and MI lived up to Bangalore's expectations as they managed to defeat Delhi with five wickets in hand.
There was not only a massive celebration from the fans but also from the RCB players, who were watching on a big screen back in their hotel. The screening had all the squad members enjoying the game and cheering for anything MI did like the fans usually do while watching a game.
In one instance, when the game was in an interesting phase, the big screen got black so the RCB squad members ran inside to watch the game somewhere else. It could be seen that Virat Kohli running inside with his shoes in his hands like a kid.
After the match got over, a massive celebration erupted with the players hugging each other and thanking Mumbai Indians for the result.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will now play Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants on 25th May in Kolkata. The winner of the game will meet the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 which will be played on the 27th of May.
