BAN vs SL 1st Test: After playing a tremendous knock of 199 runs against Bangladesh in the first innings, Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Mathews didn't even manage to open his run account in the second innings. Left-arm Bangladesh spinner, Taijul Islam took a superb catch on his bowling to dismiss the Lankan.

Matthews didn't score a run on the first 14 deliveries he faced in the second innings as Sri Lanka was trying to edge towards a draw. In the 36th over, Taijul bowled a well-flighted delivery and the batter smashed it right back at the bowler.

The ball was struck with such muscle that it looked to clear the bowler easily. However, Taijul Islam struck his hands out and completed a sharp return catch to dismiss the top-scoring Lankan batter in the first innings. 

In the first innings, Angelo Matthews faced 397 deliveries and with the help of 19 fours & a six, scored 199 runs. With this, he also registered an unwanted record as he became the first batter to get dismissed on both 99 & 199 in test cricket.

At the end of day 4's play, Sri Lanka had scored 39 runs at a loss of two wickets. After inflicting a run out to dismiss Oshada Fernando, Taijul Islam followed up with Embuldeniya's wicket. On the 5th day, the left-arm spinner went on to dismiss Kusal Mendis, Angelo Matthews & Dimuth Karunaratne. Sri Lanka finished on 260/6 as the match ended in a draw.
