India vs Sri Lanka: Venkatesh Iyer was brought in in a desperate search for an all-rounder who bowls fast, in an attempt to replace the injured Hardik Pandya, and the youngster has till now succeeded in grabbing the opportunity. Even though he didn't get to bat or bowl in the 2nd T20I, in the third 3rd T20I he took on the 'ultimate' blow as he took a catch to dismiss Dinesh Chandimal.

In the ongoing 3rd T20I match between India and Sri Lanka, India proved their decision of fielding first absolutely right as the bowlers took regular wickets to take the first 5 wickets in 12.1 overs at a low score of 60. On the first delivery of the 13th over, being bowled by Harshal Patel, Chandimal played a cut shot in the air on a short and wide ball.

The ball went straight to Venkatesh Iyer fielding at backward point and the ball went straight on to hitting Venky's guts. The catch wasn't very clean but the youngster managed to hold on to it.. The ball went through Venky's palm and into his stomach and he held on to it but reflected the 'ultimate'' pain on his face.

While talking about the match, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka led his team to a total of 146/5 after Sri Lanka were at 60/5 in 12.1 overs. Shanaka smacked an unbeaten knock of 74 runs in just 38 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes and etched a partnership of 86 runs in 47 balls with Karunaratne 12*(19) to take his team to a respectable total.
