Kohli was promoted to open the inning in the previous game but he once again got out cheaply after scoring nine runs. However, knowing the capability of Kohli, RCB decided to back him and once again sent him to face the new ball against Gujarat Titans.

Trending

From the first over, facing Mohammad Shami, Kohli looked a bit different as he opened his account with an off-drive and followed it up with a wristy flick towards the backward square leg.

Kohli looked a bit more aggressive in the powerplay as he hit five boundaries in the first overs; in the last six innings in which he batted in the powerplay, Kohli had hit only six.

Still trying to get into the groove, Kohli took his time as Rajat Patidar decided to be the aggressor. It was a typical Kohli inning as he was more inclined to rotate the strike and only hit boundaries when the ball was asking to hit.

Kohli reached his fifty 45 balls and finished his inning at the score of 58 in 53 balls with the help of six fours and a six - a strike rate of 109.43. It wasn't an inning Kohli would have liked and he didn't as he went back into the pavilion shaking his head, not able to accelerate but nevertheless, it was a knock that he and the all cricket viewers needed.

Watching Kohli raise his bat after a long time gave a hope that there is still light at the end of the tunnel.
