LSG vs GT IPL 2022: Yash Dayal, an unknown name in the cricket circuit, gained traction when he was picked by Gujarat Titans for 3.20 crores. The left-arm pacer has been performing well enough for GT and provided a big wicket in the form of Quinton de Kock against table-topper Lucknow Super Giants.

After putting up a target of 145, Gujarat Titans needed early wickets against the renowned opening pair of Quinton de Kock & KL Rahul. Yash Dayal was brought in to bowl the 4th over of the innings after two overs by Mohammad Shami & an over by captain Hardik Pandya.

On the 2nd delivery of the over, Dayal delivered a short length delivery. De Kock went for the pull shot but managed only the top edge. The ball flew straight back over wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and all the way for a six. 

On the next delivery, Yash Dayal went for a fuller delivery and the ball swung away a bit. The South African batter went for a drive but the movement caused the ball to take the outer half of the bat and flew towards backward point, where Sai Kishore completed the catch. 

Quinton de Kock was dismissed after scoring 11 runs in 10 balls with a six. While this was the first wicket for Gujarat Titans, which was followed by KL Rahul's wicket in the next over by Mohammad Shami.

Earlier, GT captain Hardik Pandya won the toss & opted to bat first against Lucknow Super Giants in the 57th match of IPL 2022. With a fifty from Shubman Gill, Gujarat managed to post 144/4 in 20 overs. Gill remained unbeaten on 63 runs in 49 balls with 7 boundaries. For LSG, Avesh Khan picked up 2 wickets while Mohsin Khan & Jason Holder managed 1 wicket each. This match is being played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
