West Indies vs Sri Lanka, 1st ODI Match Preview:

West Indies had a good T20 series with the bat and they would want to take that momentum into the ODI setup. Shai Hope has had a good record against Sri Lanka in the recent past. Nicholas Pooran and Kyle Mayers, too, are coming from a decent run lately.

Trending

Jason Holder is back in the ODI squad after missing the Bangladesh series. He will be key with both bat as well as the ball. Akeal Hosein was impressive in the series against Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka has picked up an experienced batting lineup for the ODI series. Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Dimuth Karunaratne will be crucial for their team's success in this series. Pathum Nissanka had a decent T20 series with the bat and could be the key player here.

Akila Dananjaya will be crucial with the ball and so will be Wanindu Hasaranga. The all-rounder has been highly impressive over the recent months and could take away the game from the opposition single-handedly.

Both West Indies and Sri Lanka haven't been in the best of forms in the ODI format lately. The games could go down to the wire as both teams look to regain their mojo in the ODI format.
