Chasing a par target of 173 runs, India was struggling by losing two early wickets in the form of in form Smriti Mandhana (2) and Shafali Verma (9) when the total was just 15 till 2.2 overs.

From here captain Harmanpreet Kaur took the charge and score a fierce 52 runs and also got a much-needed partnership with young Jemimah Rodrigues who also played a blistering knock of 43 runs in just 24 balls giving Australia a bit of stress till Rodrigues was sent back to the pavilion by Darcie Brown.

Richa Ghosh (14 runs) came to bat but couldn't able to perform as it is expected from the batter. The Indian hopes to make it into the podium line shattered when Harmanpreet Kaur got run out while the team was at 133.

Later, Deepti Sharma made an unbeaten 20 which wasn't good enough for the Indian side. 

The Aussie bowling was looking under pressure during the first 15 overs when the game was slipping from their hand but the team managed to push themselves and restrict India under the total. 

For Australia, Ashleigh Gardner and Darcie Brown got two-two wickets each. Megan Schutt and Jess Johassen also clinched one-one wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss Australia smacked 172 runs in the first half against India in the first semi-final of the Women's T20 World Cup.

Beth Mooney stood hard on Indian bowlers and registered 54 runs in 37 balls. Apart from Mooney, skipper Meg Lanning and Ashleigh Gardner played an important inning for the Aussie team. 

Lanning batted till the end and crumbled unbeaten 49 runs in 34 balls which went well and also turned the tide in Australia's favor.

For India Shikha Pandey was the go-to baller who scalped 2 wickets, Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav also got a one-one wicket each to their account.
