On the last ball of the 7th over, being bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal, Faf du Plessis had made up his mind to go straight down the ground against the wrist-spinner. However, Chahal had already read the RCB skipper's intentions and bowled the delivery on leg stump line with adequate flight. Faf failed to achieve the leverage required to go over the bowler's head and smacked it flat towards long-on.
Trent Boult was fielding at long-on and completed the catch while tumbling forward. RCB captain Faf du Plessis departed after scoring 29 runs in 20 balls with 5 fours. This is a huge wicket in the context of the game as RR posted a target of 170 after batting first.
