English openers added 63 runs for the first wicket in 24 overs before R Ashwin got the first breakthrough for India in the form of Rory Burns, who tried reverse sweeping the ball and got the top-edge. In a gap of one over, Jasprit Bumrah removed new Batsman Daniel Lawrence for a duck.

Dominic Sibley is currently not out on 26 along with captain Joe Root.
Earlier, England won the toss and opted to bat first. India has played three spinners in the playing XI - R Ashwin, Shahbaz Nadeem, and Washington Sundar. Axar Patel got ruled out an hour before the toss due to a knee injury.
