IND vs PAK: 'King' Virat Kohli maintained his form in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 as he smacked a half-century, powering team India to 181/7 against Pakistan in the second match of the Super 4 stage.
After being put in to bat first, India got off to good start as openers KL Rahul (28 runs in 16 balls) and Rohit Sharma (28 runs off 16 balls) scored 54 runs between them in just the first 5 overs.
Rohit was dismissed by Haris Rauf on the first delivery of the 5th over, and KL Rahul was dismissed in the next over by Shadab Khan. Suryakumar Yadav (13) was dismissed in the 10th over without causing much damage and so did Rishabh Pant (14) and Hardik Pandya (0).
However, Virat Kohli held one end as he scored 60 runs off 44 balls with 4 fours & a six before getting dismissed in the last over. Deepak Hooda (16 runs off 14 balls) also played a small important knock as he etched a partnership of 37 runs in 24 balls for the 6th wicket.
For Pakistan, none of the bowlers went wicketless. While Shadab Khan picked up 2 wickets, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz registered 1 wicket each to their name.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss & opted to bowl first against India in the 2nd match of the Super 4 stage in Asia Cup 2022. This match is being played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
