Cricket Australia has confirmed that Sydney Cricket Ground(SCG) will host the third test match of the ongoing series between India and Australia. The match is scheduled to begin from 7th January 2021. 

The venue for Sydney had come under threat after a rise in Covid-19 cases in the city which had put Cricket Australia at alert. Melbourne Cricket Ground(MCG), the venue of the second test, was put on stand by to host the third test match. 

After the second match was completed early on Tuesday, CA's interim CEO confirmed the Sydney Test as per schedule.
