The Indian team has been on top of Australia on the first day of the second test match at Melbourne. India picked up two debutants - Mohammad Siraj and Shubman Gill for this match and both have managed to contribute early in the game.
Fast bowler Siraj picked his maiden wicket of set batsman Marnus Labuschagne in the 49th over. Labuschagne clipped a delivery which was caught by Debutant Gill at leg slip by diving to his right. This is the first time after 14 years that two Indian debutants have paired up in taking a wicket.
The last time this happened was in 2006 when debutant Piyush Chawla got the wicket of England batsman Andrew Flintoff and Munaf Patel caught the ball. The match was being played at Mohali.
