Australia took an unassialable lead of 2-0 after defeating Sri Lanka by 3 Wickets in the second T20I match that was played at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo.

Australia were chasing a below-par total of 124, but Sri Lankan bowlers took the nerves of the Aussie batting lineup as they scalped three crucial wickets during powerplay. At one poiint it was looking that Wanindu Hasanga's spell can change the momentum in Lanka's way but Mathew Wade took the charge and scripted three wicket win for the Australian side.

With this Australia has clinched the series by 2-0, with one match still to go.

Earlier in the first inning, another pace duo for Australia shined with the ball as Jhye & Kane Richardson picked up 7 wickets between them to restrict Sri Lanka to 124/9 in 20 overs. 

For Australia, Glenn maxwell picked up 2 wickets as well while Josh Hazlewood was economical with 0/16 in 4 overs. 

Charith Asalanka (39) and Kusal Mendis (36) were the top scorers for the Sri Lankan team. 

Earlier, Australian captain Aaron Finch won the toss & opted to field first against Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20I. This match is being played at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
