The 27-run win in the 1st ODI against England women has confirmed that Australia has retained the Ashes series.
On being asked to bat first, Australia scored 205/9 on the back of Beth Mooney's 73 in 91 balls. For England, Katherine Brunt and Kate Cross picked three wickets each to restrict Australia.
In reply, a top-order failure meant Natalie Sciver didn't have many partners with her to chase the target as Darcie Brown ran through the England batting line-up, picking up four wickets. Megan Schutt, Jess Jonassen, and Tahlia McGrath took two wickets each as Australia defended a 206-run target.
