Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in the 3rd match of Asia Cup 2022 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on August 30th (Tuesday).
Bangladesh T20I team looked in a spot of bother with their combinations as they most recently lost the 3-match series against Zimbabwe by 2-1. Bangladesh's leading run scorer in T20Is this year, Liton Das, has been ruled out due to injury and his team would surely miss him in the prestigious Asia Cup tournament. All-rounder Afif Hossain has scored 195 runs in 8 matches this year while skipper Shakib al Hasan has also scored 116 runs in 5 matches.
In the bowling department, Mosaddek Hossain has picked up the most wickets for Bangladesh in T20Is this year with 8 wickets to his name in 5 matches, while Nasum Ahmed has picked 7 wickets this year in 5 innings.
Afghanistan on the other hand would be high on confidence with their magnificent win over Sri Lanka in the first match of the tournament. Chasing a low target of 106, Openers Hazratullah Zaza (37*) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (40*) smacked quick knocks as Afghanistan cruised to a 8-wicket win with 9.5 overs in hand.
Afghan bowlers performed exceptionally well in the first Asia Cup match. Fazalhaq Farooqi was the star as he grabbed 2 wickets in the very first over of the match, finishing with 3 wickets to his name. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman and captain Mohammad Nabi picked up 2 wickets each while Naveen-ul-Haq also managed a bat.
