STR vs HUR: Courtesy of explosive knocks by captain Matthew Short and Chris Lynn, Adelaide Strikers completed the highest successful run chase in Big Bash League history to end their 4-match losing streak.
Chasing 230 to win, Strikers lost opener Ryan Gibson in the 2nd over to Patrick Dooley. However, Matthew Short and Chris Lynn held the crease strongly as these two added 124 runs off just 58 balls for the 2nd wicket.
Chris Lynn was dismissed in the 12th over after smashing 64 runs in 29 balls with 6 fours & 4 sixes. However, Matthew Short remained at the crease till the end and achieved his century as well as the winning runs with a four in the last over. Short finished unbeaten on 100 runs in 59 balls (4x8, 6x3).
For Hurricanes, Dooley picked up 2 wickets while Tim David registered 1 wicket to his name. In the first innings, Ben McDermott (57), Caleb Jewell (54) and Zak Crawley (54*) smacked fifties as Hurricanes posted the joint third-highest total ever in the BBL history. For Strikers, Colin de Grandhomme picked up 2 wickets while Short and Conway managed 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Adelaide Strikers captain Matthew Short won the toss & opted to field first against Hobart Hurricanes in the 30th match of BBL 12. This match was played at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.
