Jasprit Bumrah's maiden five-wicket haul helped Mumbai Indians restrict Kolkata Knight Riders to 165/9 in the first innings of match 56 of the IPL 2022. 

On being asked to bat first, Venkatesh Iyer provided a solid start, scoring 43 runs upfront to get KKR to score 64 runs in the powerplay. After Iyer, Nitish Rana smashed 46 off 26 balls. 

However, the duo's hard work couldn't maximize Kolkata's score as Jasprit Bumrah bounced out the KKR batting lineup to pick a five-wicket haul, which also included a triple-wicket maiden. 

Kolkata could only reach 165/9 at the end despite being 123/2 in 13 overs at one stage.
