India beat England by 7 runs to clinch the ODI series 2-1 on Sunday and finish the tour on a high.
Sam Curran took the game deep as England needed 14 runs off the last over but could not take the team over the line and remained unbeaten on 95. He put on crucial partnerships with Moeen Ali(32), Adil Rashid(57), and Mark Wood(60) to keep England in the game.
Chasing a target of 330, England lost its openers - Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy - early in the innings. Though, Ben Stokes and Dawid Malan England score 66 runs in the powerplay.
Stokes got out on a full toss after scoring a fighting 35 from 39 balls. Jos Buttler once again failed as he got out soon for 15 as England got reduced to 95/4.
Liam Livingstone and Malan steadied the innings with a 60 run stand and kept England in the game. However, India once again got two quick wickets as both in space of less than two overs.
India dropped four catches, two of Sam Curran but ultimately found themselves on the right side of the game.
For India, Shardul Thakur took four wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended up three with scalps.
Earlier, India got bowled out for 329 in the first innings. The hosts reached the score with the help of Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, and Hardik Pandya's half-centuries.
Mark Wood was the highest wicket-taker for England with three wickets to his name.
