T20 World Cup 2022: England openers Alex Hales and Jos Buttler smacked fifties to power England to 179/6 against New Zealand in the Group 1 Super 12 match of T20 World Cup 2022. 

Opening the innings, England openers added 81 runs for the 1st wicket. Alex Hales was dismissed in the 11th over after scoring 52 runs off 40 balls with 7 fours & a six. Buttler continued on the other end while England continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. 

Moeen Ali (5) and Liam Livingstone (20) didn't contribute much. Buttler carried on as he smashed 73 runs off just 47 balls with 7 fours & 2 sixes before getting dismissed in the 19th over. 

For New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson picked up 2 wickets while Tim Southee, Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi managed 1 wicket each. 

Earlier, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss & opted to bat first against New Zealand in the Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup 2022. This match is being played at The Gabba, Brisbane.
