A century run stand between Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant has extended India's lead by 340 runs with two more wickets in hand at the end of the 2nd session on day 4 at the Oval.
Resuming the session at a tricky position of 329/6, Shardul and Pant mixed caution with aggression. While Pant controlled his natural game and left most deliveries outside off, Shardul's innings had some delightful strokes all over the ground.
Shardul reached his fifty earlier than Pant but Joe Root finally got the better of him. A partnership of 100 runs from 155 balls was finally broke. As soon as Pant reached his half-century, Moeen Ali got him out caught and bowled.
If England has thought the Indian tail will once again wrap up quickly, they have been once again wronged by the pair of Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah. The duo has added 31 runs from 39 balls so far.

India - 445/8
