Zimbabwe Cricket on December 9th (Friday) announced that former England cricketer, Gary Ballance has agreed to a two-year contract to play domestic as well as international cricket for Zimbabwe, where he was born.
Earlier, Gary Ballance was released from his contract with the English county cricket side Yorkshire.
In the time period between 2014-2017, Ballance played in 24 Test matches for England and scored 4 centuries at an average of 37.45 along with featuring in 16 ODI matches.
Before shifting to England, Ballance was the star for the Zimbabwe team in the U19 Cricket World Cup in 2006. The player was thrilled to join the Zimbabwe team and said, “I’m thrilled to be joining Zimbabwe Cricket and can’t wait to start work with some great coaches and talented players,”
“The opportunity to represent Zimbabwe has given me a new-found passion and excitement for the game.
“I have kept in touch with a number of people within Zimbabwe cricket over the years and it has been great to watch their recent progress especially”, added Ballance.
