Wanindu Hasaranga picked up four wickets as India struggled its way to 82 runs in the first innings of the 3rd T20I at Colombo.
After opting to bat first, India was in all sorts of trouble as they lost captain Shikhar Dhawan in the first over itself. Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad tried to take the ahead but the introduction of Hasaranga completely halted India's inning.
In just the fourth over of the match, India got reduced to 25/4 with all specialist batters, barring Nitish Rana, back in the pavillion. Padikkal got runout, while Samson and Gaikwad were struck in front. Rana soon departed with the score reading 36/5.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav combined to add 19 runs before Hasaranga struck again, removing the Indian vice-captain for 16. Kuldeep continued taking singles and helped India drag the score to 82 at the end.
Brief Score:
India - 82/8 (Kuldeep Yadav - 23*, Wanindu Hasaranga - 4/9)
