Sri Lanka defeated Australia by 26 runs in the 2nd ODI of the five-match series at Pallekele and leveled the series 1-1. Chamika Karunaratne turned up with a spirited performance as he bagged three Aussie wickets including that of Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell. 

Karunaratne's three-fer combined with two wickets each for Dushmantha Chameera, Dhananjaya de Silva, and Dunith Wellalage helped Sri Lanka defend its 216-run target and bowl Australia out for just 189 in a rain-hit 43 overs per side game. 

Australia had restricted Sri Lanka 220/9 in the 47th over when rain interrupted the match. Pat Cummins took four wickets during his 8.4-over spell.
