Colin Ingram and Tim David help Hobart Hurricanes score 178/8 in the first match of Big Bash League being played in Hobart. Ingram scored a 42 ball of 55 which included seven fours and a six while David smashes 58 runs in just 33 balls with the help of eight fours a six. 

For Sydney Sixers, Daniel Christian and Ben Dwarshuis picked up three wickets each in their respective four overs. 

Earlier, the Sixers won the toss and put Hurricanes to bat first.
