DC Vs MIE: Dubai Capitals registered their second win of the season after defeating MI Emirates by 16 runs in the 13th match of ILT20.
While batting first, Dubai Capitals scored a massive 222/3, all thanks to Joe Root and Rovman Powell who scored an emphatic 119 runs second wicket stand in which Root smashed 82 runs of 54 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes.
Skipper Powell went unlucky as he missed his hundred by three runs but the Caribbean batter fired 97 runs in 41 deliveries with 10 sixes and 4 fours.
In response, MI Emirates closed down to 206/5 and therefore lost the game by a mere margin. For the Emirates skipper Kieron Pollard showed a glorious act and hammered 86 runs off 38 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes, but the veteran couldn't get his team a win.
Apart from Pollard, Andre Fletcher scored 35, and Najibullah Zadran pushed his team up by knocking unbeaten 30 runs in just 9 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes.
For Capitals, Hazrat Luqman finished with 2/24, Fred Klaassen, Chamika Karunaratne, and Rovman Powell got a one-one wicket each.
