India vs Sri Lanka: In the ongoing test match between India and Sri Lanka, Indian ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took the first wicket for his team in Sri Lanka's first innings, and took his total test wicket tally to 431.
With this, Ashwin has equalled New Zealand's fast bowler Sir Richard John Hadlee's record as the kiwi pacer also has 431 wickets to his name. Apart from this, Ashwin has moved to the 11th spot now in the list of highest wicket-taker in tests.
While talking about the match, India posted 574/8 in the first innings after opting to bat first. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja contributed with 175* while Rishabh Pant scored 96 runs. Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bat first in the 1st test against Sri Lanka at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
