IND vs AUS: After Steve Smith-Marnus Labsuchagne stabilized the Australian inning, Ravindra Jadeja was impeccable in the second session, picking up 4 wickets. Australia are at 174/8 at the end of 2nd session on day 1 in the first Test against India.
Jadeja broke through the 82-run 3rd wicket partnership as he sent back Marnus Labuschagne with an excellent delivery as the batter was stranded on 49 runs. Jadeja went on to send back Matt Renshaw for a golden duck on the very next delivery.
Steve Smith was Jadeja's next fish as the ace batter went for 37 runs. Alex Carey counter-attacked with his knock of 36 runs in 33 balls but was cleaned up by Ashwin. Carey and Peter Handscomb added 53 runs for the 6th wicket before Carey's dismissal.
Pat Cummins and Todd Murphy were also dismissed in the second session by Ashwin and Jadeja respectively. Australia scored 98 runs in 28 overs in the 2nd session while losing 6 wickets. Handscomb (29*) and Nathan Lyon (0*) will continue batting when Australia come out in the 3rd session.
