IND vs AUS: After Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj struck early on with wickets, #1 and #2 ranked Test batters Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith revived visitors as they scored 76/2 at Lunch on Day 1. 

Siraj dismissed Usman Khawaja with the first delivery of his spell in the match as the opener scored 1 run in 3 balls. On the first delivery of the very next over, Mohammed Shami sent David Warner's stump cartwheeling to void Australia of their openers. 

However, cricketing brothers Smith and Labuschagne got together as these two survived an excellent bowling attack by Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, etching a partnership of 74 runs for the 3rd wicket. Smith scored 19 runs till Lunch, facing 74 deliveries while Marnus remained unbeaten on 47 runs in 110, with 8 boundaries. 

Earlier, Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss & opted to bat first against India in the 1st Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23. This match is being played at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur.
