IND vs SA: With brilliant fifties from Aiden Markram and in-form Reeza Hendricks, South Africa managed to post 278/7 in 50 overs against India in the 2nd ODI. India now needs 279 runs to level the 3-match series.
Opener Quinton de Kock (5) was dismissed early on in the 3rd over by Mohammad Siraj. His opening partner Janneman Malan was also dismissed after scoring 25 runs as Shahbaz Ahmed grabbed his first international wicket in the 10th over of the innings.
From thereon, Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram etched a brilliant partnership of 129 runs for the third wicket. Reeza was dismissed after scoring 74 runs (4x9, 6x1) while Aiden Markram scored 79 runs (4x7, 6x1). Heinrich Klaasen (30) and David Miller (35*) contributed handsomely to take South Africa to a good total.
For India, Mohammad Siraj picked up three wickets and remained the top wicket-taker. Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur managed 1 wicket each.
Earlier, South Africa captain Keshav Maharaj won the toss & opted to bat first against India in the 2nd ODI. This match is being played at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi.
