India vs Sri Lanka: India finished Day 1 on 357/6 in the first test against Sri Lanka. India lost 2 wickets in each of the three sessions throughout the day as Sri Lanka keep trying to make a comeback after leaking runs in the first session.
For India, Rishabh Pant remained the top scorer with his 97-ball-96 as he missed another test century for the 5th time in his career. Apart from the young keeper-batter, Hanuma Vihari (58) and Virat Kohli (45) helped India to a strong position at stumps on day 1.
India scored 158 runs in the 32 overs bowled in the last session. Lasith Embuldeniya took 2 wickets and remained the highest wicket-taker for Sri Lanka, while Suranga Lakmal, Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara & Dhananjaya de Silva picked up 1 wicket.
