After being named in the squad, BCCI has withdrawn ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah's name from the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting from January 10th.
Bumrah has been out of international cricketing action since September 2022. The pacer suffered a back injury and has undergone rehabilitation. After this, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) declared the pacer fit but now BCCI has decided not to rush the bowler and rest him for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
The Indian team, led by Hardik Pandya and void of big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul managed to win the 3-match T20I series by 2-1 against Sri Lanka. With the big guns back and the ODI World Cup nearing, team India would look to gain momentum against the Lankan side.
