Disciplined bowling helped India defend a 185 run target against England in the 4th T20I to level the series 2-2. England needed 23 runs in the final over and lost the match by 8 runs.
England started off well as they scored 48 runs in the powerplay despite losing Jos Buttler early in the innings. Jason Roy and Dawid Malan stitched a 45-run stand to set up the chase.
Roy got out after scoring 40 after losing Malan's wicket in the previous over. Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow then got together to add 65 runs and almost took the game away from India. But in just over of Shardul Thakur's, visitors lost both Stokes and Bairstow which once again changed the game in favor of India.
Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer helped India post 184/8. Yadav struck his maiden fifty and got out under controversial circumstances.
Jofra Archer took three wickets.
Brief Score:
India - 184/8 (Suryakumar Yadav - 57; Jofra Archer - 3/31)
England - 177/8 (Ben Stokes - 46; Shardul Thakur - 3/42)
