India lost five wickets in the morning session on day 5. India still needs 276 runs to win the first Test at Chennai.
England bowler James Anderson picked three quick wickets - Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant to push India to backfoot.
India lost the wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara early in the day to Jack Leach. Gill and Virat Kohli were looking comfortable at the crease. Shubman Gill scored a fifty before getting bowled by a jaffa by Anderson. Rahane got out in an identical fashion by Anderson in the same over.
Pant scored 11 before Anderson removed him. Washington Sundar was picked by Dom Bess on a duck.
Virat Kohli and R Ashin survived the last 30 minutes before the lunch was called.
